Miniature

DIN rail-mount miniature circuit breakers have low current ratings to protect low-power equipment from current overloads and short circuits. Also known as IEC miniature circuit breakers, modular DIN rail breakers, or dual-rated UL and IEC breakers, they mount on DIN rails to save space in panelboards and load centers. They are manually resettable after they trip and include a contact position indicator that shows when the circuit is on or off.
UL489 circuit breakers are used as branch circuit protection or as supplementary electrical protection. UL1077 circuit breakers are used as extra protection for devices that already have branch circuit protection or where branch protection is not required. UL1053 ground fault supplementary protectors detect and interrupt current leakages to the ground. Front panel mount miniature circuit breakers are typically used with simple systems that do not have separate electrical panels or enclosures, like power supplies, medical equipment, control panels, and telecommunications equipment. Miniature circuit breakers for panel boards and load centers interrupt current flows in the event of a low-level fault to protect devices from electrical damage. They have lower current ratings than molded case circuit breakers, so they are used in low-power circuits that require more sensitive protection.
