Soft Starts

A soft starter is a solid-state device that reduces the inrush current required for an across-the-line starter and protects AC electric motors from damage caused by sudden influxes of power. They provide a gentle ramp up to full speed and are used at startup and if required a soft stop feature as well. This soft ramp provides power cost savings by limiting the inrush current and added life to equipment via the gentle start-up.
