  1. Omron to release new E2E NEXT proximity sensors with enhanced sensing distance and IO-Link

Omron Automation Americas, a globally recognized provider of advanced industrial automation solutions, has announced the release of over 2,500 new models of its E2E NEXT proximity sensor series featuring exceptionally long sensing distances and IoT functionality.

Industrial automation solutions provider Omron Automation Americas has added more than 2,500 new models to its E2E NEXT line of proximity sensors. Highlights of the new models include an enhanced sensing distance that minimizes target contact during production and IoT capabilities for improved predictive maintenance.

Contact avoidance is essential for maximizing uptime. Seventy percent of unexpected equipment downtime is caused by component failures, of which proximity sensors account for a large proportion. E2E sensors are designed to help manufacturers reduce potential causes of unplanned downtime while benefiting from the sensors' environmental resistance.

The addition of IO-Link functionality enables the sensors to reduce recovery

  2. Magazine positioning solutions for different solar panel sizes

As the magazine transports the glass to different operations, the handling process adds risk to ever more valuable modules. A SICK integrated environment controls the risks with stable and cost-effective solutions. Here, an OD Value laser short range distance sensor indexes the panels, and reports their size and orientation. The IME12 inductive proximity sensor is responsible for sensing the beginning and end positions of the magazine.

The OD Value allows for an easy, precise and economical solution of measuring tasks. It detects even small deviations in dimension, shape, position or excentricity directly in the machine, contactless, precise and during running operation. OD Value convinces with its main features: reliable, user-friendly, effective, universal and efficient. The ideal solution for everyone, who needs to check and verify quality regulary and directly in the process.

    Features:

    • Several measurement ranges from 26 mm to 34 mm to 100 mm to 500 mm
    • CMOS receiving element for measurement
  3. Wiring Consolidation and Fast Change Outs in Cylinder Proximity Switches

Clamp cylinder proximity switches are generally located in tough environments where corrosive hot chips and cutting fluids exist on CNC milling centers. Molex Mini-Change connectors are designed for such environments. A Mini-Change "T" device connects two clamp cylinder proximity switches to a single user input thereby consolidating machine wiring. This allows the machine to be quickly built while at the same time allowing maintenance and troubleshooting to be quickly accomplished - a must for any piece of capital equipment. If any of the cabling is accidentally severed, any of the quick change components can be simply unmated and replaced, optimizing machine uptime.

Quickly installed and continuously reliable, Brad Harrison Mini-Change connectors are well suited for such harsh industrial applications. Cable options available in the Mini-Change connector family include a TPE "universal" cable, which is highly resistant to today's toughest cutting fluids as well as weld slag. There are several
